“No! You aren't! Are you?”

They draw back and their faces register surprise, incredulity. Their bodies withdraw to better observe. They peer and then a slight unease envelops them.
“You are?”
“Yes,” I laugh, “it isn't contagious, merely inevitable.”
“But…but…you don't look it, you don't act it!”
“What is ninety-one years old supposed to look like? How is ninety-one years old supposed to act? We think, act, speak, laugh, and love just as we ever did! Passion in its many forms is still within us! Don't be afraid. Now, let's get back to what we were doing…”
